Dave Mason Jr. and eBay Motors kicked off a partnership in 2020 that spanned across the spectrum of Off Road Racing, from four wheels to two and through deserts and short courses across the U.S. and Mexico.
The year began with an amazing Victory in the Best in the Desert's Parker 425 event. With no driver or co-driver changes, the eBay Motors Ambassador and his navigator [Matt Nelson] drove the Stronghold MAVTV Class 1500 Buggy the entire distance lasting 7hrs:05mins:38sec. Mason took the Class Win and posted 3rd overall across all classes. It was only the second time in Mason's career driving a class 1500 buggy.
After the big win, Dave Jr. earned a seat on the Stronghold Racing Team sharing driving duties with Brandon Bailey for several Best in the Desert races. The pair won the prestigious Maxxis Triple Crown, one of off road racing's most coveted prizes. The Maxxis Triple Crown is won by setting the lowest combined elapsed time in three premier racing events: Parker 425; Vegas to Reno; and the Blue Water Challenge.
eBay Motors and Dave Mason Jr. Conquer Lucas Oil Short Course Racing in Prolite & Pro2
Mason Off Road began the short course off road racing season by debuting the #65 eBay Motors Prolite in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. With almost no seat time prior to the season start, Mason was able to finish the first 5-rounds of the national series with nearly all top-ten finishes. He competed in just one regional series event finishing on the podium in 2nd place. The team was led by Crew Chief and former champion off road racer, Steve Barlow.
Mason Off Road Launches eBay Motors Pro2 Program Mid-Season
Midway way through the year Mason Off Road made the decision to kick off their Pro2 program in 2020 to gain more testing time in preparation for a full 2021 campaign in the premier Pro2 class. Sprint and Midget Car Legend Cory Kruseman turned prominent Drivers Coach, joined the team, and worked closely with Dave Mason Jr. It was a successful year of learning and developing while still finishing strong. Dave Jr. and the eBay Motors Pro2 had two top-five and two top-ten finishes out of the five remaining races.
Dave Mason Jr. Joins Chiflados Racing for Baja 500 and Baja 1000; Team Finds Success in Grueling Race Events
Dave Mason Jr. and the Mason Off Road team had the opportunity to join Mexico's Chiflados Racing Team driving their Class 1 Buggy in two of the most famous races in all of motorsports, the Baja 500 and Baja 1000. History will define both races as some of the most grueling and demanding events on record. Dave Mason Jr. and the Chiflados Team were able to overcome the challenges with a 3rd Place Podium finish in the Baja 500 and 4th Place Finish in the Baja 1000.

Mason Off Road is already Preparing for a Busy 2021 Racing Season; Dave Mason Jr. to Make King of the Hammers Debut in January
Dave Mason Jr. will kick off the new year competing for the first time in the King of the Hammers, an off-road race that combines desert racing and rock crawling and has become one of the toughest and most unique events in motorsports. Mason will enter a Class 10 Buggy competing for a $60,000 first-place prize.
The team plans a full season of Short Course racing campaigning a Pro2 in the Championship Off Road Series. This series visits some of America's most famous short course racing venues including Crandon, which is known as the Super Bowl of Short Course Off Road.
Mason will also continue with the Chiflados Racing Team driving in all of the SCORE Series events, which includes the 2021 Baja 1000. Other events for Mason include Best in the Desert's Vegas to Reno driving a Class 10, Alpine to Vegas the Long Way Moto Event, and potentially even making a Sprint Car Debut.
