Dave Mason Jr. Takes 3rd Place in Pro-2 at the Crandon Brush Run Cup Race!

Crandon International Raceway - Crandon, WI: Dave Mason Jr. started his Pro-2 season in style with his first podium finish in the Championship Off Road Series. He picked a good time to get that first podium too, because it was in a competitive and high-paying Cup Race which would pit the Pro-2 Trucks against the more powerful 4WD Pro-4's.

An excited Dave Mason Jr. makes his way to the podium:

"It feels good to get up here and show what my team and I are capable of" said Mason, "Last season we had a lot of speed every weekend, but being new to these tracks made it tougher for me to be consistent over an entire race. This time we showed up with an immaculate ebay motors truck, and I was able to keep it in one piece and push hard to the end while many others didn't finish."

It wasn't easy though, as Mason not only had to fight off drivers from his own class, but also the faster Pro-4's as they worked to pass through the Pro-2 field. Ultimately minimizing mistakes and keeping the truck alive were the recipe for success, as it often is. "This is my first weekend racing on the Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires, and I am really happy with them. The track was muddy at the beginning and rough at the end, and these things had phenomenal grip throughout."

Despite the close battles, the truck was still fairly clean at the finish:

A solid start all around for Team Mason Off Road as they continue on to ERX Motorsports Park in July. Mason plans to campaign the Factory RaceCo Honda Talon at all of the remaining COR Races, along with running the Pro-2 at the Crandon World Championships on Labor Day Weekend.
